Intelligent Traffic Systems (ITS) and Electronic Signaling Systems

Intelligent Traffic Systems (ITS) and Electronic Signaling Systems (electronic variable message signs, traffic management systems, new technology LED traffic lights). Our company is collaborating for many years with the company Ortana LTD, a company specialized and internationally certified with many years of international experience through big scale high level relevant projects (as for example the Falcon Project in Dubai). Also our company is collaborating with Thessaloniki Technological Park and Thessaloniki Aristotle University, tapping by this way the skills of the latest scientific and technological developments. AKTIS had already equip with relevant systems Thessaloniki Ring Road, and also it has successfully carried out relevant projects in Egnatia Odos, in Region of Central Macedonia road network as well in the City of Sofia, Bulgaria.

Variable Message Signs - VMS

VMS is one of the most important components of an ITS system. Data collected from ITS sensors are interpreted in a control centre and subsequently transferred to connected VMS, where they are shown as graphics and/or text messages.

VMS information helps drivers to save time and fuel, and warns them in case of bad weather, heavy traffic, accidents, constructional works on roads, etc. They can be used on all urban, national road networks and highways.

Lane Control Signs - LCS

Lane Control Signs offer timely information about the availability of motorway traffic lanes or the forthcoming diversions due to works or accidents inside a tunnel. Their use is obligatory for tunnels greater than 300m.

Lane Control Signs are manufactured using high technology, long lasting life time (averaged more than 100.000 hours) LEDs.

The LCS specifications meet prEN12966 standard (EUROPEAN STANDARD, Road Vertical Signs – Dynamic Message Traffic Signs) and are protected according to IP66.

Speed Warning Sign

Doppler Radar Speed Warning System is a simple and versatile speed warning device, which has a positive effect on driving attitudes.

Traffic Beacon for Schools

Traffic beacon for schools is a product specifically designed for roads and crossings near schools. It warns approaching drivers for the existence of schools in the area and the calls their attention for careful driving. It is a neat and energy saving solution that can work both with electric power supply and solar panel, since its power consumption is very low.

Combined Set

The combination of pedestrian signal lamp & countdown clock set is an aesthetic, compact solution for intersections where for reasons of increased security and comfort, it is necessary to show both animated figures and remaining time to drivers and pedestrians. This option is particularly useful in large intersections as well as in cases which demand increased security for pedestrian crossings, such as near schools, hospitals, shopping areas, etc .

Countdown Clock (CC)

The use of CC informs drivers and pedestrians about the remaining time of the red and green traffic light. In this way it allows, for example, pedestrians to adjust their walking pace when crossing an intersection and/or enables drivers to adjust their driving (slow down, speed up, get ready to start, etc), since they know exactly when the traffic light will turn from red to green and vice versa. Countdown Clocks can be easily connected on existing traffic lights.

Pedestrian Signal Lamp

It animates still-man and walking-man figures to pedestrians during red/green signal in intersections. Walking man figure is animated by minimum 5 different movements. At the last 10 seconds of green signal walking man starts to run (Patent Pending).

LED Traffic Lights

LED traffic lights can be adjusted on site, using a simple DIP switch setting, in order to work either as a traffic signal lamp or a beacon. Many beacons can be programmed to work and synchronize in groups without a central controller using a simple DIP switch setting

Motorway Digital Video Recording

Road Digital Video Recording is an advanced product/service carried out with the use of a specially equipped vehicle and software applications developed by Impulse Geophysics, designed to integrate video survey, investigation and data collection of a video recorded road section of any type of road (urban, national, highway, etc).
