Our company is staffed with qualified personnel that is in constant contact with the technological developments in Europe and the USA, and has developed research activities both within the company itself, and in close collaboration with academic laboratories, research centers and specialized foreign firms. AKTIS is systematically co-operates with the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, the University of Athens and Thessaloniki Technology Park, and also with renowned foreign companies in the fields of synthetic emulsions, telematics and electronic recording. The bulk of research done in cooperation with the above institutions while the company has specialized laboratory that includes basic equipment for research, mix design of bituminous mixtures for anti-slip thin layers and quality control of bituminous emulsions. The company dedicates in research and technological development an averaged of 1.5% of the company annual turnover.

Aiming to explore the possibilities of color slurry seal in addressing the heat island effect, the company has recently completed laboratory research in collaboration with the Department of Physics, University of Athens, with very encouraging results. For further inquiries, AKTIS has made, in collaboration with the Department of Physics, University of Athens and other agencies, suggestions in the research programs of the General Secretariat, that complete the lab research and fill them with field pilot applications.

Additionally, in cooperation with the Department of Electrical Enginnering, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and CERTH, the company develops innovative applications in the field of telematics for traffic management, field equipment remote-control, and the use of new technologies for digital recording and display of road networks.

The result of this continuing research and long-lasting partnerships is to develop unique expertise in the Greek market and its application in practice with proprietary equipment and skilled technical personnel..
